What to bring:
- A flashlight or two - It gets dark....very dark. Bring at least one flashlight because while you phone has one, a flashlight may shed light for a greater distance. And don't forget the batteries!
- Bug repellent - There will be insects...lots of them. Mosquitos are out at night and there are plenty of deer which carry deer ticks. So we suggest unless you want to be eaten alive, bring some repellent.
- Warm clothing - While the days might be warm, the nights may be cool Warm sweaters/sweatshirts, socks, a hoodie or coat are recommended.
- A Camp Chair or 2 to use at the various out-door activities or to just "chill."
- Robes or ritual wear - While we do not require you wear robes for ritual, if you have them (or special ritual clothing) bring them.
- A notebook and pen or pencil - Why? To take notes of course!
- Drums and/or instruments - To use during "Merriment" time.
- Stories, songs, jokes, tales of old and new as well as your bright smiles and friendship.
- Toiletries and maybe an extra towel-Kirkridge supplies bedding and towels but you might want an extra.
- Earplugs-You will have a roommate. We cannot guarantee said roommate won't snore or talk in their sleep.
General Suggestions:
- Unplug - This is a place to commune with nature, your fellow druids and yourself. There is no WiFi and the phone reception may be spotty since we are in the middle of the mountains surrounded by trees. Unplug for a bit.
- Walking in the woods - For your safety, we suggest that if you walk after dark or early morning, you not walk alone. There are many animals including coyotes, bobcats and yes, bears.
- Don't leave food out - Food + possibility of animals = not a great situation. If nothing else, the chipmunks are everywhere and boldly will steal whatever they can.
- Don't expect to sleep! - It ain't gonna happen since there is sooooo much going on. (This is of course being said tongue-in-cheek.)
